looking forward to the New Mexico centennial (2012)

New Mexico will celebrate 100 years as a state in 2012, and we're already planning the party.

The Centennial logo has just been unveiled.  It was designed by Ryan Rodriguez, a senior at the Art Center Design College in Albuquerque.

I'm sure the state Department of Tourism will receive some extra money for marketing the state for tourism in 2012, and there will be lots of performance and entertainment events.  I'll keep you posted as festivities are planned. 

When I originally published this post, I had a picture of the winning logo design.  I recently received email saying it's copyright material, so you have to go look at it here.
